Model Flying Ireland
Mar 4
Undercarriage back on, wing retaining bolt area rebuilt/strengthened, underside of the wings fixed. Just some covering and she’ll be finished.
Well the U-CAN-DO is back flying, and great fun. I’ve reduced the throw on the elevators as it was a bit too exciting, 135% over was just a bit too much
U-CAN-DO repair
Jan 17
Well the U-CAN-DO repair is underway. The undercarriage mount and front belly pan are glued back in place. The wing mount former is braced with some extra ply, and will be fitted tomorrow night, then brace it all up with some nice fibreglass. Then just patch up the wings, and up, up and away
Well the U-CAN-DO .46 build is going really quickly, and with the exception of issues I’m pretty impressed with it. I’ve put the ASP .91fs up front, and had to put the fairly heavy 3300mah 6V batttery behind the throttle servo to get the CG at 5″ or so. I thought as a result the [...]

I had my battered Speed Air 40 up at the weekend, and despite some issues due to the soaking it got at last weeks funfly, was flying well. After takeoff she veered left and down (as she did at the funfly, before I ditched her in the next field), and I had to hold a [...]
Seeing as I hadn’t flown her for a while I decided to bring my Extreme Stick up during the week. She flew well, and despite moving the CG back, still required a heap of up elevator to fly level. The Extreme is rather more exciting than the Calmato (I still love it btw), and has [...]
